Faculty of Management Studies - Baroda
M. S. Patel Institute of Management Studies, popularly known as FMS-Baroda, was established in July 1984 to make a distinct contribution to advanced management education and research in the city of Vadodara. It's run by The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU). he courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The Faculty aims to develop itself into a centre for quality management education, known for its contribution to the development of Business Leadership and Corporate Excellence.
Its motto is "Those who build beneath the stars build too low". It's based on a poem of famous Urdu poet Muhammad Iqbal, "Sitaro se age jahan aur bhi hai", which means "the world is beyond the stars".
It has consistently been ranked among top 50 B-schools of India and Ranked Fourth among university run B-schools of India. The students are admitted through state level centralized competitive examination known as GCET (Gujarat Common Entrance Test). The selection procedure includes written test, group discussion and personal interview. FMS-Baroda is consistently getting toppers from GCET.
2008-10 Placements are DONE. AND IT WAS excellent.
Final placements for the regular MBA batch 2008-10 are now over and it was really excellent. It was like there is no downturn in the economy at all. Most of the students of 2008-10 batch who have opted for campus placements are placed with highest pay package around 6 lac pa.
